Hey, I Like Your New Design!

Well, Thank You Very Much!

As everyone already knows, yesterday was the blog’s first blogiversary where I released all new designs. I figured that some people are wondering how the new design came to be and where some of the pieces came from. Always give credit!

The first place that I looked for materials to use was Freepik. Freepik is a site where they offer free graphics to be used as long as you give credit (if you’re not a paid member). The three pieces I got from Freepik are the arrows, background, and a layer of the watercolor used in the logo. If you need a little something for design, Freepik is a great place to check as they have a lot of options!

Although I did design everything myself (other than the graphics I used), I do not have Gimp or Photoshop. I use an online editor/web app called Pixlr. It is completely free to use. It is not as advanced as Photoshop but it can get most jobs done. Sometimes you may  need to get creative to get whatever you are looking for. It was all moving graphics around and layering on top of each other and adding effects.

I am thankful for all these sources for allowing me to use the graphics for free-to-use and I figured it was best to thank them by offering credit back. You never know how some graphics you find can shape the entire overall design in a complete different direction and make it completely original.

What do you think of the design, be sure to let me know! Also, stay tuned for one more blogiversary post tomorrow!
